Rozsutec is a natural abrasive stone with a grit size of approximately 6000-8000, mined in the mountains of Slovakia. It has a highly homogeneous structure and high durability. Used in the final stages of sharpening cutting tools. It does not require pre-soaking. Works well with both oil and water.
During sharpening/honing, it is not recommended to apply force and pressure!
No special care is needed. It can be cleaned under running water with soap and a stiff brush (such as a toothbrush). It levels out after conditioning with silicon carbide.
Rozsutec sharpening stones should be used with lubricant:
Rozsutec stones do not have any minor defects. Rozsutec stones always have a color pattern; this is not a defect.
Rozsutec stone does not require any preparations. It is naturally lapped to ultra-fine grit.
Rozsutec stone, conditioned with silicon carbide powder F500, has a coarser structure compared to Elbor 3/2. However, after conditioning with F1200 powder, it immediately shows excellent results: when used with water, it creates a mirror shine left by Elbor 3/2, which slightly dulls, but the blade becomes noticeably sharper (capable of shaving hair without problems). When used with oil, the sharpness remains at the same high level, but the finish becomes noticeably more mirror-like.
