Hindostan is a natural sandstone quarried in the state of Indiana, USA, and traditionally used as a fine sharpening stone.
Grit
The estimated 3000 JIS grit makes Hindostan suitable for fine sharpening and edge refinement after coarser sharpening stages.
Mounting
The natural stone is mounted on a high-quality aluminum blank for convenient use with Hapstone knife sharpening systems.
Preparation
Hindostan stones are preliminarily lapped and do not require additional lapping after purchase.
As a natural material, the stone may contain dark spots and slight natural imperfections. These are normal characteristics of natural Hindostan sandstone.
Lubrication
Hindostan can be used with either water or oil as a lubricant during sharpening.
