I bought this as an upgrade for my WorkSharp Professional Precision Adjust, and it's definitely a big improvement over the original WorkSharp stone holder. It even fits in the WorkSharp storage position. While it doesn't lock in place quite as securely as the original holder, it stays in position well enough to keep it there while flipping the blade. Overall, a very worthwhile upgrade. Outstanding customer support. Mario did everything he could to help with my order and resolve an issue that was not caused by Hapstone. Professional, responsive, and genuinely customer-focused service. Highly recommended.
I got this as a replacement for the one that came with the system since the original broke down on me. Sorry to say but i am happy the part broke so i got this one instead since it is so much better in every way. It is so much smoother and it is so effortless now to sharpen a knife. If you are considering this one over the original, don't hesitate, get it it is so much better. Hapstone shouldn't deliver the RS with any other stoneholder.
Very well finished, and everything is screwed together, even the wooden handle. If I can offer one tip, it's to allow enough space for the stone to be clamped so you don't over-tension the spring just enough to clamp the stone as this will create some tension, this way the movement is very smooth. What you can also do is move the piece with the allen screw that holds the wooden handle a little bit more towards the end , so you have less trouble with the rod coming into your hand.

Improvement on the original. Very comfortable to use. Gets a bit squeaky, may need some lubricant in a while... Good value on black friday! 😊

I was hesitant about purchasing this upgrade. The default Hapstone RS setup is already so smooth and easy to use that I didn’t feel the need for an improved holder. But after a few months, I was too curious. I had to see how this would improve an already great sharpening tool. And I’m glad I did! This upgrade is incredibly smooth. The stone holder glides over the rod effortlessly, with zero friction, making sharpening an absolute pleasure. I love it! The price is reasonable, and the added comfort is well worth it. If you’re considering this upgrade, go for it—you won’t regret it!
