The Sigma Power Select II sharpening stones are designed for knife sharpening on Hapstone sharpening systems.

All Sigma Power Select II stones are 5 mm thick and are mounted on high-quality aluminum blanks. The Sigma Select II series stones have unique features that make them outstanding among other Japanese water sharpening stones. The abrasive particles of Sigma Select II stones are not bound using traditional synthetic binders (such as organic or magnesia-based), but instead, thermal bonding is employed. In fact, Sigma Select II stones, like natural stones, do not contain binders in the classical sense.

The set consists of 7 grit sizes

    • 240 grit Grinding stone, dark green
    • 400 grit brown rough stone (grinding)
    • 1000 grit Sharpening stone, dark blue
    • 3000 grit Sharpening stone, green
    • 6000 grit Finishing stone (honing), cream
    • 10000 grit Finishing stone (honing), yellow
    • 13000 grit Honing stone, yellow

Select II is a premium-class series of sharpening stones from Sigma Power. They are versatile but designed for sharpening the hardest steels. Select II stones consist of aluminum oxide abrasive with minimal high-hardness binder.

This leads to a significant increase in the number of cutting edges per unit of the working surface and, consequently, enhances the abrasive capacity and efficiency of the stone. Additionally, the abrasive in Sigma Select II stones has a complex composition, including elements of natural minerals and a synthetic component of alumina-zirconia. Although this increases the production cost, it provides a response when working with Sigma Select II stones that closely resembles Japanese natural stones and allows for processing even the hardest steels.
